Asko 24" Heat Pump Dryer, Classic, White - T208HW

CLASSIC HEAT PUMP DRYER - WHITE Caring for our environment not only helps to take care of our earth and promotes healthy living. Choosing energy efficient and long lasting products you also save money. If you plan on buying a new tumble dryer - choose the T208HW dryer and you will also get lower energy bills.

Features

Butterfly Drying

This smart feature is our own invention. It saves both the motor and your ironing board. The unique paddles inside the drum tumble the clothes in a figure eight to prevent the clothes from bundling. This leads to a reduced need to reverse the drum rotation. This is an intelligent function which saves the motor and the belt from any unnecessary strain and your clothes from creasing.

Stainless steel drum

At ASKO, we believe not only that stainless steel will outlast for example, plastic, but also that quality materials will always look better in years to come. Eventually, galvanised steel rusts, so we decided to make our drums out of stainless steel. That s why our tumble dryers really do last longer.

Green drying (with heat pump dryer)

The heat pump dryer consumes only 0.24 kWh/kilo laundry. This combined with the Sensi Dry system and the Auto programs makes ASKO a good option for the environmental conscience customer.

Auto Synthetic

By using the Auto Synthetic program with its lower temperature and shorter tumbling time, you will automatically take care of your blouses and shirts the right way.

Airing

Use the Airing option to freshen up your clothes or get rid of hair from your pets. Cool tumbling for any length of time can be used also for delicate garments.

Anti-Crease

The Anti-crease automatically rotates the drum for three seconds every minute to prevent your clothes to wrinkle. The program runs for two hours after the program is finished.

Line Concept

All our tumble dryers are designed according to the Line Concept, which offers a logic way of using the machines, from left to right.

Maintenance Tips

The Asko T208HW Heat Pump Dryer is designed for efficiency and gentle drying. To ensure it remains in top condition and continues to operate at peak performance, follow these essential maintenance tips:

1. Clean the Lint Filter

  • After Every Load: Clean the lint filter after each drying cycle to prevent lint buildup, which can reduce the dryer’s efficiency and pose a fire risk.
  • Deep Cleaning: Every few months, wash the lint filter with warm water to remove any residual fabric softener or detergent buildup that may reduce airflow.

2. Clean the Heat Exchanger

  • Regular Cleaning: Clean the heat exchanger every 3 to 6 months to maintain optimal efficiency. Dust and lint can accumulate, hindering the heat pump’s performance.
  • How to Clean: Use a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush to gently remove dirt and debris from the heat exchanger. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the best method of cleaning.

3. Inspect the Condensate Drain

  • Check for Blockages: If your dryer has a condensate drain system, regularly check it for blockages to ensure water flows freely. Clogs can lead to moisture buildup or water damage.
  • Clean the Tray or Drain: Periodically empty and clean the condensate tray or drainage container to prevent any buildup that could cause odors or reduce drying efficiency.

4. Clean the Air Vents

  • Clear the Vents: Ensure that the dryer’s air vents are free from lint and debris to allow for proper airflow. Blocked vents can cause overheating and longer drying cycles.
  • Check Exhaust Path: Although heat pump dryers are more efficient and do not require external venting, it’s still important to ensure that internal ducts and airflow paths are unobstructed.

5. Check the Heat Pump System

  • Monitor Performance: Since this dryer uses a heat pump to recycle air, it's important to ensure that the system is operating efficiently. If the dryer starts taking longer to dry clothes or doesn't reach the expected temperature, check for issues with airflow or blockages in the heat pump.
  • Professional Service: If problems with drying time or heat output persist, schedule a professional inspection to examine the heat pump and internal components.

6. Run a Maintenance Cycle

  • Empty Dryer Cycle: Run an empty cycle once a month at the highest temperature setting. This helps clear out any lint or buildup from the internal components and ensures that the dryer continues to run efficiently.
  • Dryer Cleaner: You can use a specially formulated dryer cleaner to maintain the heat pump dryer, which will help remove residue from fabric softeners or other buildup.

7. Clean the Moisture Sensor

  • Check Sensor Performance: If your dryer uses a moisture sensor, regularly clean it to maintain accurate drying times. Use a soft cloth and mild detergent to wipe the sensor clean.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use harsh cleaning agents on the moisture sensor, as they can damage the delicate components.

8. Maintain the Exterior

  • Wipe the Exterior: Regularly wipe down the exterior with a soft cloth and mild soap to remove dust, lint, and stains. This will help maintain the dryer's appearance and prevent dirt buildup.
  • Avoid Abrasive Cleaners: Avoid using abrasive scrubbers or harsh chemicals that could scratch or damage the surface of the dryer.

9. Monitor Dryer Performance

  • Drying Time: Keep an eye on drying times. If drying cycles are getting longer, it may indicate a clog or issue with the heat pump system. Addressing these issues promptly will prevent further damage and improve energy efficiency.
  • Unusual Noises: Listen for any unusual noises, such as grinding or rattling, which may suggest issues with the motor or drum. If you notice strange sounds, it may be time for a service check.

10. Ensure Proper Installation

  • Room Ventilation: Ensure the room where the dryer is installed is well-ventilated. Good air circulation around the unit is essential for proper performance and to avoid overheating.
  • Temperature Considerations: The dryer should be placed in an area with temperatures between 15°C (59°F) and 25°C (77°F) for optimal efficiency. Avoid placing it in overly hot or cold environments.
