Rinse After Each Dive: Rinse both the first and second stages with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and chlorine. Ensure the regulator is not submerged for long periods—just a quick rinse is sufficient.
Check for Leaks: After rinsing, check the regulator for any air leaks. If you detect any leaks, inspect the O-rings, hoses, and connections for damage.
Clean the Mouthpiece and Hoses: Use a mild soap solution to clean the mouthpiece, hoses, and the outside of the regulator. Ensure everything is thoroughly rinsed and dried.
Inspect Components: Regularly inspect the first and second-stage regulators, including hoses, O-rings, and the DIN fitting, for wear or damage. Replace worn parts as needed.
Lubricate O-rings: Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the O-rings on both the first and second stages. Be sure to avoid petroleum-based lubricants, which can damage the rubber.
Dry and Store Properly: Hang the regulator to dry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Avoid storing the regulator with high pressure in the tank for long periods.
Service Annually: Have your regulator serviced annually by a certified technician to ensure optimal performance and to address any issues before they affect your diving safety.
